Late evening, the sun has set on another great day…the streets lit up by passing cars and the hazy lights from inside the local restaurants. Me and John park up our bikes, and head over to a small bridge that crosses a small stream. Children running around trying to see the natural phenomenon that occurs for only 2 weeks every year…looking down stream, bairly no light from the street breaks through the thick cover of bushes and trees, lining the bank…Then all of a sudden, in the distance a small twinkle. It quickly fades out…but then another and another. Twinkling like stars across a night sky…like small fairies dancing across the river. Hotaru -‘fireflys’. Amazing little bugs, just flying around, like flying fairy lights.
Thanks John for taking me to see them! Great end to the day!
This is a photo that John took.
