Merry Christmas from Kyoto.
It’s been a fine day here.
Last night, I ate a Christmas Eve dinner of pork belly, pineapple, pumpkin, bourbon, and dark chocolate. Delicious! It was a sort of Hawaiian dinner. It reminded me of one of my favourite Christmas mix tapes from back home, which includes the track We Four Kings (Drummer Boy) from the Blue Hawaiians‘ album Christmas on Big Island. Sorry, I can’t find the song on YouTube, or I would post it here. But I can post a photo of my Christmas Eve dinner…
Today, Chris-sensei invited the kenshusei to his home for a special Christmas party. We were supposed to watch all three of the original Star Wars movies! Neither Takenaga nor Nick could come, but one of our favorite dojo members, Caspar, did come.
Chris-sensei fired up his outdoor charcoal grill, and we ate grilled chicken, burgers, and beer. I made my hot cocoa with Kahlua.
Back home in the US, there was an ice storm…
…and my parents had a lovely tree…
I hope you had a good Christmas as well.
Training starts again on January 7th. Please check back for New Year and new training news.
An inviting dish!!! And a very lovely tree ◎ Is this a real tree??
Yes, my parents always cut down their own Christmas tree!
Once again many thanks Chris, for the excellent Photos with your Post. Very wet and windy here in the UK !
